Young people participating in a TAFTA community programme in Lagos

Impact stories · Lagos

Creative opportunity in motion.

In Lagos, TAFTA works through learning centres, public institutions and youth-focused partnerships to take practical creative education into communities.

The state story

Skills, access and opportunity—closer to home.

TAFTA’s Lagos programme connects online learning to physical support, practical training and community mobilisation. The Learning Train has moved through universities, NYSC networks, government institutions, schools and non-governmental organisations.

That local network helps learners move from access to action: finding a place to practise, meeting facilitators, building confidence and collaborating on real creative projects.

What changed

Progress people can feel.

TAFTA combines digital learning with practical training, community outreach and partnerships that connect skills to real opportunity.

01

Public-sector reach

A full NYSC SAED partnership and collaboration with the Lagos Ministry of Youth widened mobilisation and opened training spaces across the state.

02

Learning through practice

Physical sessions at LASUED and practical centres connected digital course content to sound, stage-lighting and production experience.

03

Original creative work

The TAFTA Action Learning Project brought different Lagos training groups together around seven original monologues.

04

More inclusive access

Safeguarding support and collaboration with Project Enable Africa helped extend training to learners who face additional barriers.

How support works

  1. 01

Community and partner mobilisation brings the Learning Train to young people where they already gather.

  2. 02

Supported centres and practical venues provide equipment, connectivity and face-to-face guidance.

  3. 03

Project work, industry exposure and safeguarding help learners complete the journey with confidence.
